This is David Qualls ,K6AYK , Tesla Coil Builder of Colossus, a 10 foot tall Rotary spark Gap coil running at 12kw and producing over 13 feet of arcs, now in Grover Beach, California.
I have a problem my YL says it must go. I am working with the Engineering Department At Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California but they say it to large to host or run on campus.
So I had a offier of $9,000 for it, but I do not want to sell it. I want to donate it to a 501 C3 non profit orignation. Or someone that will keep it running and talk about Nicola Tesla.
Im 85 in good health ,I designed and built in in 2007 and sold it on ebay to a company in east Los Angeles called Romac Electrical Supply.
He sold the business in 2021 and gave Colossus back to me. I want to find it a good Home. 240vac input power control panel with Variacs, Pole Pig on wheels with new non pcb’s
shell oil. Colossus with rotary spark gap. Tororid 10 inch X 30 top load. Schematics, parts list and spare parts.
Please let me know if you know someone that could take Colossus? I would help set up and train.
