That's a relief that my secondary's ok then as it was a bugger to build, just need to find that tap point then. I have opened the gap to the point you could hear it firing a few times a second and the streamers went a lot shorter so i knew straight away that it was to far apart. The gap is two turned brass balls and it has no quenching so i have made a new one from 8 off bits of 15mm copper pipe 100mm long in a bit of 82mm dia plastic pipe which has a fan mounted on one end, il see if this improves the output.
