Hi Doug,Other than (obviously) requiring a tuning change,it also depends on whether your NST can fully charge the larger MMC. Most of these simulation programs are designed to maximize the MMC size based on your NST's voltage and combined current (with multiple NST's).
If you arbitrarily double the tank cap size, you may also need to increase the NST current (or add another similar NST in parallel) in order to properly charge the new MMC size. Or, you might be able to get it to work by reducing the spark gap distance so that the gap will fire at a lower voltage. Adding more NST current will increase the effective power of the coil which should increase spark length. However, too much current may cause your gaps to overheat and fail to quench... which will reduce coil performance.
